Americans Underestimate Future Need of Home Health Care
A recent study by Health Affairs found that middle-aged Americans underestimate their likelihood of needing home health services by 500 percent.[1] Only 14 percent thought it was very likely they would need home health, yet about 70 percent of Americans will require home health services at some point. Most Americans will receive their home health care from family members, but about 25 percent will rely on professional home health services or a long-term care facility.
