Remember, before the pandemic, how apprenticeships were broadly seen as an important way to train workers for in-demand jobs? The Biden Administration apparently no longer agrees, argues AAF President Douglas Holtz-Eakin in today’s Daily Dish. The administration effectively ended the new Industry-Recognized Apprenticeship Programs (IRAPs), signaling that it wants to stick with the centrally managed apprenticeship program instead of supporting a more flexible system that is better aligned with current and future job growth, he contends.
