AAF Examines the Cost of Free Community College for Students
The American Action Forum (@AAF) released new research examining the impact of “free college” proposals for students. The research finds that only one out of every three college students would be eligible to participate in the program, preventing those students at a private or 4-year public university from accessing federal funds. In addition, the research finds that only 39 percent of community college students end up completing a degree after six years, meaning the program would lose nearly $48 billion of an $80 billion investment.
