WASHINGTON – American Action Forum President Douglas Holtz-Eakin today announced the American Action Forum’s FLEX Strategy for our broken Medicaid system.  The FLEX Strategy works on four overarching principles: Financial Accountability, Lean Operations, Ensured Access to Care, and Expanded State Ownership.

“Medicaid is broken. With rising debts and diminished access to care for those most at risk, we can no longer afford the status quo,” commented Holtz-Eakin. “The FLEX Strategy addresses these problems, providing states the financial flexibility to make initial investments in long-term cost savings and expand access, which states are currently unable to do.  I am confident that this new approach will improve the social safety net, operations and access to care that was limited by PPACA."
