The latest National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP) results for 2013 have garnered a bit more attention than usual with nearly across the board gains in reading in math for all students.
Yet, the report showed once again that the gap between Hispanics and their peers has not improved.
For some twenty years now the U.S. has been assessing and tracking student achievement. During this time Hispanic students have shown consistent growth in scale scores but have made nearly zero progress in closing the gap with their white classmates.
