After the Fall: Five Years After Lehman’s Collapse, Where Are We Now?
Join the American Action Forum for a panel discussion on the recent financial crisis, its lasting effects, and where we stand today. On September 15, 2008, Lehman Brothers declared bankruptcy, further destabilizing an already volatile financial market, and ultimately unleashing a wave of collapses, takeovers, and economic dislocation. The crisis and its ensuing damage to the real economy prompted extraordinary measures from Congress, the Federal Reserve, and two administrations. A landmark financial reform, the Dodd-Frank Act, undertook major change in financial regulation and is still being implemented today.
Our expert panel, having had front seats to the unfolding crisis and the resulting policy debate, will discuss the policies taken to mitigate the crisis and what we have left to do to prevent future ones.
Please RSVP as seats are limited. Lunch will be provided.
