Expectations for May Jobs Reports
Printer-friendly version
We’re waiting with bated breath for the ADP and BLS jobs reports due out tomorrow and Friday, respectively. Will we see growth other than that from temporary Census workers in Friday’s numbers? Economists are forecasting half a million jobs were created in May. If that's true, it will be the largest monthly increase in nonfarm payrolls since 1997. More realistically we expect 180,000 private sector jobs. Looking ahead, jobs will continue to grow, but not fast enough to quickly compensate for the loss of over 8 million jobs during the recession -- Policies of higher taxes, huge deficits, protectionism, and heavy regulation are slowing the recovery.
